During my tenure at the Oak Park Regional Housing Center, I have consistently looked for occasions to go above and beyond what is required by my position; working on many special projects from conception to completion. One of the largest projects I have taken on is The Oak Parker magazine. I worked tirelessly to create the inaugural issue of the annual publication, and all of its accompanying marketing materials, including a media kit, website, and social media. I designed the entire magazine including many advertisements, wrote, and edited content—all while continuing to serve in my primary roles as a rental housing advisor and an apartment guide. The magazine’s first year brought in $30,000 in advertising revenue. Our second issue is also flying off the shelves.

Here's a summary of my work on this project:

• Currently write monthly blog about Home Décor on TheOakParker.com, which draws 95% more activity to the Facebook Page 
• Conceptualized, designed and contributed to inaugural issue of annual publication
• Designed, edited, and authored content for 2013 print issue
• Created 2012 and 2013 prototypes
• Strategized pricing structure and marketing of 2013 issue
• Created and distributed (100 print + online version) media kit for 2012 issue
• Created and distributed (300 printed + online version)  media kit and sponsorship guide for 2013 issue
• Edited and proofed numerous drafts of content for print issues
• Developed social media strategy and delegated maintenance
• Designed 18 advertisements per customer request in 2012 print issue; 13 advertisements in 2013 print issue
• Solicited quotes from competitive printers and coordinated on-time delivery of proofs and product
• Coordinated distribution of 5000 copies of 2012 print issue
• Researched and utilized online tool to create page-flipping web version of the 2012 issue; maintained 2012 version of TheOakParker.com
