As an AmeriCorps*VISTA at Colorado "I Have a Dream"® Foundation, I served under the Development Director. Through my work with CIHAD, I conceptualized, developed and facilitated marketing and development activities including: revamping and maintaining the CIHAD website and creating marketing/recruitment materials for funders and class sponsors. Additionally, I coordinated fundraising events, wrote grants and solicited donations, educated communities and groups about CIHAD through networking and other public relations activities, and researched educational and socioeconomic issues. As a VISTA, my goal was to build organizational capacity and sustainability. The following are highlights of some of my success in these endeavors:
