515 Magazine is the capstone experience for all Drake senior magazine journalism students. According to our editorial philosophy, the 2006 edition of the magazine "offers bold ideas to shape an active and successful lifestyle for twentysomething, urban professionals in Des Moines. The lively content demonstrates ways to balance creativity and practicality and reveals relevant social issues that affect our readers. 515 magazine encourages our audience to discover how to actively engage in the community, thrive personally, and above all--live zealously."
My contributions to 515 were vast and varied. I researched and wrote a story about behavior in the workplace, pursued potential advertising leads, coordinated the entire ad sales process, contributed to the design and content decisions including designing an advertisement, developed marketing and promotion ideas, facilitated the distribution process, and planned a launch party.
